In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida filled an entire album side, and teenage guitarist Erik Brann's section is one of its memorable stretches. His playing is raw and fuzz-heavy, with feedback and distortion adding to the song's hypnotic, heavy groove. He works around the song's famous riff, stretching and bending it with rough, energetic phrases. The track's length and heaviness helped shape hard rock and heavy metal.
