Aesthetics of Hate is a furious modern thrash track, written in response to an article that mocked Dimebag Darrell after his death, and Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel give it extended, blistering solos. The two guitarists trade leads full of fast runs, sweeping arpeggios and whammy squeals, echoing the fire of classic thrash while sounding thoroughly contemporary. Their solos are long and ambitious, pushing the song to a powerful climax. The track became a highlight of the band's revival. Listen for the trade-offs between Flynn and Demmel, and notice the Dimebag-style whammy squeals that feel like a tribute woven into the song's anger.
