The song ends in a sprawling instrumental coda, and John Squire uses it to show how much more he was than a jangly rhythm player. Over Mani's bass and Reni's loose, funky drumming, he moves through chiming figures, choppy funk rhythm and fluid lead lines, changing texture every few bars instead of building one long solo. The effect is closer to a jam band than to the indie scene the Roses came from, and it nudged British guitar music toward groove and swagger. It's the sound of a band stretching out and enjoying itself. Listen for the way Squire drops in and out of the rhythm section, trading lead and rhythm roles until the track finally winds down.
